Ingredients

  • Fresh Palak-5 bunches
  • Onion-1

  • Cinnamon-2inches

  • Cloves-5

  • Ilachi-3

  • Ginger*-1inch

  • Garlic*-5pods

  • Salt-apt(as per taste)

  • Ghee-3 spoons

  • Basmati rice-2cups

  • Water-4cups

  • Cashews-Apt

  • Pepper corns-4

Directions

  • Clean and cut fresh bunches of spinach and let it dry for 5minutes in room temperature!!
  • Cut onions and fry in spoon of ghee.. Caramelize onions!!
  • Fry cashews in same pan and keep separately!!
  • Take a kadai, add ghee, pepper corns, cloves, cinnamon ,ilachi ,and spinach .
  • Let them all cook in ghee with lid for 5minutes on low flame***
  • Wash and soak 2 glasses of basmati rice in 4 glasses of water.
  • Now make a smooth paste of ghee fried spinach and masalas along with ginger and garlic.
  • In same pan add remaining ghee and smooth paste of spinach masala.
  • when it starts leaving ghee a side, add soaked rice, salt.
  • Mix well and bring to boil.
  • Close the lid and cook on slow flame for 20minutes.
  • Add a spoon of warm milk and mix gently…Sprinkle caramelized onions and fried cashews on top!!Serve hot with potato fry/paneer fry!!!

Notes

  • 1.Low flame cooking preserves nutrients..
  • 2.Extra Ghee is always Add on!!
  • 3.Donโ€™t over cook the spinach..
  • 4.caramelized onions, ginger ,garlic are optional**
  • 5.Prefer Basmati rice only to enjoy pulav.
  • 6.Avoid if you are suffering from Renal(kidney) disturbances..
  • 7.instead of milk at last you can use water to soften the rice๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘
